Why choose Jabalcuz

Six reasons with character

Jabalcuz® is the extra virgin olive oil of the Sierra de la Pandera cooperative (Los Villares, Jaén): Picual olives from mountain groves, cold-pressed on the same day they are harvested, winner of the 2025 Mario Solinas First Prize from the International Olive Council, and available from €6/liter when bought directly from the oil mill. Here are the six reasons why it has such distinctive character.

1. True mountain olive groves

Our Picual olives grow on the slopes of the Sierra de la Pandera, between cool summer nights and winter snows. Mountain olive groves produce less than lowland groves—and that is precisely why they pack more aroma, fruitiness, and personality.

2. From olive tree to oil mill on the same day

The olives are pressed on the day they are harvested, using cold extraction and exclusively mechanical methods. Pure olive juice, no shortcuts.

3. Cooperative traceability

Every trailer that enters our yard is registered with its plot and its member. We know which olive grove every liter comes from—because the olive grove is ours.

4. Awarded where it counts most

The International Olive Council jury awarded us the 2025 Mario Solinas First Prize, and the 2026 AOVE World Cup ranked us as the third best extra virgin olive oil in the world. See all our awards here.

5. Cooperative prices

We sell directly from the oil mill, without intermediaries, by the case and with the price per liter clearly displayed. Award-winning quality doesn't have to come at the expense of family savings.

6. Buying from hundreds of families

Behind every bottle, there is no investment fund: there is a town, Los Villares, and the member families of a cooperative that lives for and by the olive grove. That commitment is also evident.

Try it and judge for yourself—character cannot be explained, only tasted.
